THE ORIGINS
Zinc sulfide the glowing element! Zinc sulfide when first disocovered was aoften used in nuclear physics for its phosphorescence glow. Theodore Sidot a french chemist among the first to notice the glow from zinc sulfide in 1866. Sidot's research was presented by A.E. Besquerel (to the right) who was well known for his research in luminescence. Zinc sulfide in the early years of it's discovery was used in x-ray screens cathode ray tubes. Enerest Rutherford was among the early users of zinc sulfide, using it for it's ability to emit light. Now in time there are multipe uses for zinc sulfide such as "glow-in-the-dark" items everywhere. Making zinc sulfide the element that glows!
